DMCA Policy & Copyright Notices
ManhwaHentai respects the intellectual property rights of creators, publishers, and rights holders worldwide. If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, this page explains how to file a formal takedown request and what happens after we receive it.
01Introduction
ManhwaHentai (manhwahentai.pro) is an entertainment platform dedicated to manga, manhwa, webtoons, and related comic content. We take copyright protection seriously and have no interest in hosting material that infringes on the rights of legitimate copyright owners.
Whether you are an individual creator, a publisher, or a company that owns the rights to original artwork or story content, we want to hear from you if you believe your intellectual property has been used without authorization. We treat every copyright complaint with care and aim to respond to valid notices in a timely manner.
This DMCA Policy is designed to be clear rather than buried in legalese. We want rights holders to understand exactly what to include in a notice, what to expect after sending one, and what options are available to users who believe a removal was unjustified.
02DMCA Compliance
ManhwaHentai operates in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), a United States federal law enacted in 1998. Among other things, the DMCA establishes a notice-and-takedown system that allows copyright owners to notify online service providers about infringing content and request its removal.
Under Section 512 of the DMCA, online service providers that respond expeditiously to valid copyright notices can qualify for a safe harbor that limits their liability for third-party content. ManhwaHentai takes these requirements seriously and acts promptly when it receives properly submitted notices.
Although the DMCA is a U.S. law, we extend the same courtesy to copyright holders located outside the United States. If you are based elsewhere and believe your work appears on this site without permission, please use the process described below.
03Filing a Copyright Infringement Notice
If you are a copyright owner β or an agent authorized to act on behalf of one β and you believe that content hosted on ManhwaHentai infringes your work, you may send us a written copyright infringement notice. To be valid under the DMCA, your notice must include all of the following:
Required elements of a valid DMCA notice
- Identification of the copyrighted work. Clearly describe the work you own or represent. If multiple works are affected, list each with enough specificity for us to understand what is being claimed.
- Location of the infringing material. Provide the exact URL(s) on ManhwaHentai where the allegedly infringing content appears. Vague descriptions are not sufficient and will delay our response.
- Your contact information. Include your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith statement. A written statement that you have a good faith belief the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement under penalty of perjury. A declaration that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf, made under penalty of perjury.
- Physical or electronic signature. Your notice must be signed by you or your authorized agent. A typed name at the end of an email is generally accepted as an electronic signature.
Notices missing any required elements may be considered deficient and may not trigger our takedown obligations. We may contact you for the missing information but are not obligated to do so.
04Review & Removal Process
Once we receive a copyright infringement notice, our team reviews it to confirm it contains all required elements and that the claim appears to be made in good faith. We do not rubber-stamp every request β we make a genuine effort to evaluate whether the notice is substantively valid before taking action.
What happens after we receive your notice
If a notice is complete and facially valid, we will take appropriate action β typically removing or disabling access to the identified content. Where required by the DMCA, we may also notify the person responsible for the content about the removal.
If a notice appears to be incomplete, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you and request the missing elements. Notices that remain deficient after follow-up may not result in a takedown.
We do not guarantee any specific response time, but we strive to handle all valid notices as quickly as our review process allows. Claim complexity, notice volume, and the need to verify information may all affect the timeline.
05Counter-Notification Procedure
If content you are responsible for was removed in response to a copyright infringement notice that you believe was mistaken or invalid, you have the right to submit a counter-notification under the DMCA.
A counter-notification is a formal legal document. By submitting one, you are declaring under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Required elements of a counter-notification
- Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or β if outside the U.S. β any judicial district in which ManhwaHentai may be found.
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original notice or their agent.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send your counter-notification to [email protected]. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the original complainant and follow the DMCA process for potentially restoring the removed content.
06Repeat Infringer Policy
ManhwaHentai maintains a policy of terminating or restricting access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers. This is a requirement for online service providers seeking DMCA safe harbor protection, and we take it seriously.
A repeat infringer is generally someone who has had content removed from our platform on multiple occasions in response to valid copyright infringement notices. We reserve the right to assess each situation on its own facts and to take proportionate action, up to and including permanent suspension of access.
If you are a legitimate user whose content was removed in error, a counter-notification is the proper remedy. Repeatedly re-uploading content subject to a valid takedown notice may itself be treated as evidence of repeat infringement.
07Third-Party Content Disclaimer
ManhwaHentai is an aggregation and discovery platform. Some content accessible through our site β including images, chapter files, cover art, descriptions, metadata, translations, and external links β may originate from third-party sources that we do not directly control or produce.
While we make reasonable efforts to ensure that content accessible through our platform does not infringe intellectual property rights, we cannot individually verify the licensing status of every piece of third-party content. If you discover infringing content from a third-party source accessible through ManhwaHentai, please notify us using the process in Section 3 and we will take appropriate action.
The presence of external links on ManhwaHentai does not constitute an endorsement of the linked content, nor any claim that those external resources are free of intellectual property concerns.
08Misrepresentation Warning
Important legal notice: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing β or that material was removed by mistake β may be held liable for any resulting damages, including costs and attorneys fees.
In plain terms: do not file a copyright infringement notice unless you genuinely and in good faith believe the content in question infringes your rights. Submitting false or fraudulent copyright complaints can expose you to serious legal liability.
Similarly, do not submit a counter-notification unless you genuinely believe the takedown was a mistake. Both the original notice and any counter-notification are submitted under penalty of perjury.
